At the Galata, visitors can "navigate through history" across its four exhibition floors, which follow the maritime history and the relationship between Genoa and the sea, from the Middle Ages to contemporary times. The spacious environments of the Genoa arsenal showcase reconstructions of the vessels that have marked history: a 42-meter-long galley represents the Age of Oars, a brigantine represents the Age of Sails, and the reconstruction of various environments of a steamer represents the Age of Steam. All are open for visits and equipped with multimedia interactions.

The Galata also hosts several thematic sections, including the Memory and Migrations pavilion and Italiano anch’io, a multimedia exhibition dedicated to the history of migrations.

The journey concludes with the permanent exhibition on the Andrea Doria, the most beautiful ship in the world, a testament to Genoa’s most famous and unfortunate vessel.

Don’t forget to visit the Nazario Sauro, a submarine museum located in the dock in front of the Galata, where visitors can "dive into" the fascinating environment of submarines.
