Symbol of the city, with its 77 metres of high, is the tallest lighthouse in the Mediterranean sea. According to some unofficial sources, the first tower was built in 1128, majestic view in the city, is nowadays the light that shines on Genova.
A pedestrian promenade 800 meters long, between the Ferry Terminal and the “Lanterna”, the walk crosses over the quays of the port and takes you to the Lanterna, the fortification, the city park and the open air Museum.
The promenade is mainly built skirting the walls which supported the ancient road leading to Genoa from the west, it retraces the route and forms a balcony from which Harbour activities can be observed and which make of Genoa an important port. A fascinating ascent of 172 stairs to reach the panoramic view of the city and the Harbour.
