Museo Diocesano di Arte Sacra
Opposite the Cathedral is the Palazzo Vescovile, still the seat of the Bishop of Arezzo. It was built in the 13th century by Guglielmino degli Ubertini, the first Bishop of Arezzo to reside there. Since 2011, five rooms on the ground floor have housed the Diocesan Museum of Sacred Art, an important collection of sculptures, paintings, illuminated manuscripts, tapestries and silverware from the territory of the diocese. The first floor of the palace also houses the Episcopal Picture Gallery and the Papal Chamber, which was used to receive the Popes who visited Arezzo.
