A charming hotel in the city's core, the building emerged from the merging of five 13th-century palaces facing the Church of Santa Maria delle Vigne, which already appeared in the Rolli lists of noble family residences of the Republic in the 16th century. These palaces hosted princes, kings, cardinals, or lords during state visits, representing the first example of European hospitality.
