Pompeii is a very special and fascinating place, unique in the world, where time stopped on the morning of 24 August, AD 79 when Mount Vesuvius erupted and covered the town in meters of ash, preserving it for 1,700 years. Your day will start with the pick-up at the hotel at 10:00 and transfer to Pompeii to explore one of the most fascinating places of Naples environs under the narration by a professional guide.
In roman time Pompeii was a rich and populated town, full of private and public buildings. On a summer’s day in 79 A.D, the entire town and around 20.000 of its inhabitants were buried under tons of ash and pumice because of a violent explosion of Mt Vesuvius. A shower of very fine ash was deposited everywhere to a depth of more than six meters, enveloping everything and adhering to the forms of the bodies and of their clothes. Almost 2.000 years later, you have the opportunity to discover the everyday life of the Imperial Age and imagine the panic of the people before the city was so disastrously buried.Your guide will show you fascinating places such as The Forum, Thermal Baths, Lupanare and Vetti’s House with it’s beautiful frescos. This is a trip not to be missed for any visitor to this region of Italy. After the tour, return to Naples and drop off at the hotel at around 1:30 p.m.

We inform visitors and all stakeholders (schools, tour operators, tour guides, etc.) that, for the protection of the frescoes and the environments of the archaeological areas and to ensure the safety is NOT ALLOWED introduce inside the excavations of Pompeii, Herculaneum, Oplontis, Stabia and the Museum of Boscoreale, handbags, backpacks, luggage, cases, whose dimensions are larger than 30x30x15 cm.
The visitors can leave their belongings at the free cloakroom service present at all access gates.
However, considering the fact that in times of increased flow, the premises for a wardrobe may not be sufficient to contain the baggage of all the guests, it appeals to the sense of collaboration of the users of the archaeological areas to ensure that the new provisions can be fully application.
In particular, it requires teachers accompanying school groups visiting to ensure that students leave their backpacks on board the bus or the other means of transport by which they reach the excavations.
